Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen Friday Sermon of Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Zafrullah Domun |
|
Friday Sermon 1st February 2008 After reading the Tashahhud, Ta’ouz and the chapter Al Fateha of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amiroul Mo’meneen Zafrullah Domun read the following verses of the Holy Quran : “Inna nahnon nazzalnaz zikra wa inna lahou lahafezoune” Then he said: Since the beginning of January 2008, by the Grace of Allah I have received on an average two revelations per day. I know that this will surprise many, not in Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen but rather those who should not have been surprised, namely, the leaders and members of the mainstream Jamaat Ahamdiyya Worldwide. Last week I spoke about their surprise. The Jamaat, in its ignorance may ignore what I am saying or even ridicule them but they will never be able to frustrate Allah’s plan. It is quite unfortunate that we have arrived at such a point where we need to use such words for those who were our brothers and sisters until recently. Anyhow such is life and it is my duty to deliver what I am being told to the whole Jamaat and also to the whole world. Today I will speak about some more revelations that I have received and which help us to understand the errors of the mainstream Jamaat under a new light. Saturday last the verse which I have just recited namely “Inna nahnon nazzalnaz zikra wa inna lahou lahafezoune” was revealed to me. Its meaning is quite well known and very clear. It translation is as follows: “It is We who have sent down this Exhortation and it is We who are responsible for its preservation”. This is verse ten of chapter 15, al Hijr. The comments of both Hazrat Masih Maood (as) and that of Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmood Ahmad (ra), the second caliph run over several pages on this particular verse. But the essence of the message of the verse is that Allah revealed the Holy Quran to the Holy prophet Mohammad (saw) and Allah took upon Himself the preservation of its true teachings for all time to come. In fact this is a very important verse of the Holy Quran and it contains a great prophecy as well. Allah declares emphatically that He sent down this book full of exhortations and Allah Himself is responsible for the preservation of both its words and its meanings. Commenting upon this verse, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad
(as) says that Allah has guarded Holy Quran in the following 4 ways: “We may upon the strong presumption affirm that every verse in the Qur’an is genuine and unaltered composition of Mohammad himself” We can quote several other writers who have confirmed that the meaning of the words in this verse has stood the test of time. But because of the lack of time we are not going to quote them. There has been genuine preservation of the words that were revealed to the Holy Prophet (saw) since the beginning of Islam. We may also say that these words were also a grand prophecy of the Holy Quran and it has been fulfilled up till now and incha Allah it will hold good till the end of time. The fact is that Allah who had made this promise and of course He keeps His Words. And there have not been any alteration in the words of the Holy Quran. Hazrat Masih Maood (as) continues and says that the second means of preservation is that in each century there have been such scholars who with the help of the Hadiths have preserved the real meanings of the verses of the Holy Quran. Thirdly he says that there has been preservation of the Holy Quran through those men of understanding who have preserved the Holy Quran by showing how its teachings are based on reason and has protected the book against the attacks of the ignorant philosophers. And lastly through those who received spiritual favours and who preserved Allah’s pure words in every age against the attacks of those who deny miracles and the deep knowledge that the Book contains. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) has also said that in every age these prophecies have been fulfilled. When we examine what Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) has said we notice that out of these four types of preservation , three concerned Holy Quran’s meanings and one its words. You will agree with me that all the four types of protection are very important. Now the relevant question is why is it that Allah reveals this verse to me? In order to answer this question we need to understand well the role and mission of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). He came to reestablish the shariah that Muslims had forgotten. Allah gave him a Jamaat to carry out and to continue this mission. Had this Jamaat stuck to what Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) had said they would have carried on his mission till the end of time. But as it usually happens with Jamaats, they decay with time. The mainstream Ahmadiyya Jamaat is labouring today under the delusion that their system of khilafat is enough to preserve these teachings although what they say is totally against what Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) had said. In his book ‘The Victory of Islam’, he says: “Do you understand what is meant by the night of decree? The night of decree or “laillatul Qadr” is the name of a night when spiritual darkness reaches its ultimate gloom. That gloom, metaphorically demands a light from heaven for its own dissipation. This night is symbolically called the night of Decree. In fact it is not a night but a period, which is referred to as a “night” because of its intense darkness. One thousand months is the approximate life span of a human being. It is also a period after which normal human senses cease to function. The elapse of a period of one thousand months, following the demise of a prophet or his spiritual successor also signals the commencement of a ‘night' of darkness. This ‘night' triggers a fervor in the heavens and the seeds of the birth of one or more reformers is stealthily sown. Thus, such a reformer or reformers prepare to emerge at the head of the new century. The following verse is also an indication by God towards this phenomenon The night of Decree is better than a thousand months (Surah Al-Qadr (ch97, v4) meaning that anyone who perceives the blessings of this night of Decree, or anyone who benefits from the company of the Reformer of age, is better than an eighty years old man who failed to behold this blessed time. Even if he witnessed a single moment of this blessed era, it was better than his past one thousand months. Why is that moment better? Because during that period, in support of the Reformer, the angels of God and the Holy Spirit (“Rooh-ul-Quddus”) descend from the heavens. They manifest themselves upon the hearts of the faithful for the purpose of unveiling the path to the guidance. They remain fully engaged in this endeavour until the gloom of delinquency vanishes, ushering in a dawn of piety.” This is one of the extracts from the writings of Hazrat Miza Ghulam Ahmad (as) about this subject. It is a very important extract indeed. At several places he has made it quite clear that the Jamaat should expect that somebody will stand up with ‘Ruhul Qudous’ in order to preserve the meanings of the Holy Quran. Unfortunately the Jamaat ignores such extracts in order to reinforce the idea that the system of khilafat in place is quite enough to carry out any type of reforms that the Jamaat needs or the world needs. Go back to the end of the nineteenth century in India and you will easily know who held such beliefs! But as usual those who are blinded by their own arrogance “in what they have” dull their own capacity to see the Truth as it is. Through its ignorance the Jamaat is making the same mistakes that past fortunate people who received guidance from Allah did. Therefore from what I understand from this verse that has been revealed to me is that Jamaat Ahmadiyyah Al-Mouslemeen is here to preserve the teachings of the Holy Quran – as taught by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) and this needs to be preserved and that is Jamaat Ahmadiyyah Al-Mouslemeen’s task – get back to the source and forget about any ijtehaad which has diluted the teachings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as). On the same line of thought I also received on Sunday
Last an indication that I should think about the following verse: The translation of the verse is as follows: I am not going to dwell upon this verse with regard to what some people have mistakenly inferred that some verses of Holy Quran are abrogated. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) has told us that this is not the case at all. No verse of Holy Quran has ever been abrogated or will ever be until the last day. This is a long subject and insha Allah in future, Allah willing, we may talk about it. But for the purpose of our discussion, the meaning of this verse is closely connected with the previous verse we have discussed. The meaning is again what we said in the previous sermon,
namely that Ahmadis’ idea of Khilafat is wrong now, not necessarily
before and so it is being abrogated. The meaning that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad (as) gave for it, which had been forgotten is being resuscitated
again. The blessings that Allah is manifesting now is much better than
what is generally believed to be the blessings of Khilafat. In fact
this divine manifestation fulfills the words of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam
Ahmad (as) when he said: Before I move on to another revelation, I would like to read to you from Holy Quran the verse that precedes the above verse that I have read and commented. It reads as follows: “They who disbelieve from among the people of the book, or from among those who associate gods with Allah, desire not that any good should be sent to you from your lord, but Allah chooses for His mercy whomsoever He pleases; and Allah is the Lord of exceeding bounty.”(Ch2 :v106) In the time of the Holy Prophet (saw) it was the Jews and the polytheists of Mecca. Today, we have no concern with the Jews or the polytheists. But we are dealing with those whose behavior slowly resembles that of the Jews of yore and they wish us evil and they totally dislike what Allah is telling us. They are those who qualify these revelations as ‘so called revelations’ or they say that this manifestation from Allah is “a total deception” and they are waiting for evil to touch so that they may exult. Recently Allah revealed to me: “Wa yatarabbaso bekomond dawa’ir
Alaihim da’eratons saw” Together with the verse that I spoke in the beginning I also received ‘Fattaqoullaha Wa ati’ouni’ which means: “have the fear of Allah and obey me.” In addition Allah has also told me: “Iqtaraba Linnaase hisaabahoum wa houn fi ghaflahin mou’rezoune” which means: “Near unto men has drawn their reckoning, yet they turn away in heedlessness.” This is the second verse of Surah Al-Anbiyah, chapter
21 of the Holy Quran. Therefore again I am telling you all to take care
and to turn to your Lord before it is too late. Take the trouble and
read the whole 1st Rouku of chapter 21 and ponder over its meanings.
I again tell you do not neglect what I am saying to you. It is your
good fortune that Allah has accomplished the words of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam
(as) when he said: “laa walia ba’di illallazi howa
minni wa ala ahdi” Before ending I will tell you about another revelation that I have received recently. It is as follows: Ya Sin The translation is as follows: I know that many would say how I dare say such things. But I cannot remain silent or hide what Allah tells me which I should tell the people. Besides those who have a mission cannot remain silent and they fear none but Allah under any circumstance. In the Holy Quran Allah says: “And those who delivered the messages of Allah and feared Him and feared none but Allah. And Allah is sufficient as a Reckoner.” Holy Quran Ch33: v.40. The above revelation is in fact a snub to all those who are speaking ill of me. Allah says “By the message of this Quran full of wisdom, you are one who has been sent”. This can be understood in at least two ways. Firstly the message of the Holy Quran does not at all prohibit the coming of men who are appointed for the guidance of mankind whenever the need arises. Secondly by the messages that Allah gives me as revelations and which are mostly the verses of the Holy Quran, Allah confirms that I am among the sent ones. I have a mandate from Him to guide the people. Others are qualifying me with all types of epithets such as that I am a rebel, an outsider. But Allah is confirming to me that I and those who are with me are on the right path; that path that we seek so many times daily. Furthermore Allah confirms that the revelations received are from Him, The Mighty, The Merciful and not from Satan or from my own self or from anyone else. It is pure revelations as has been explained by Hazrat Masih Maood (as) in his writings. And for what purpose are these revelations been sent now? There is a need to remind the people specially Ahmadis about what the true teachings of Allah are because they have started to forget about it. They need this reminder so that they may be rightly guided. Ahmadis, who live in blissful ignorance of their own teachings, believe erroneously that they are safe with their system of khilafat. Allah has sent a Warner among them to tell them that it is not the system of khilafat that they should give precedence to but rather to the real concept of TAUHID, as Hazrat Masih Maood (as) came to teach them but which they have ignored with the passage of time. More incha Allah next time. May Allah bless all of us and help us to remain under
the shadow of His Love and Pleasure for ever. Ameen. |
