SUBJECT OF OF LAST FRIDAY’S SERMON
In last Friday’s Sermon we spoke about how important it is for all members of the Jamaat to make permanent in their own life the good deeds that they practiced during the month of Ramadan. We stressed that members should strive to read their five daily prayers regularly and on time and as far as possible, at least for the men folk, to read these prayers in congregation. In addition, they should also strive to do their tahajjud prayers, read additional voluntary prayers (nawafil), and engage themselves in the remembrance of Allah a lot. Furthermore, they should make the reading understanding and practicing of the Holy Quran, a daily feature of their life. They should not show any neglect in this regard. They should also show excellent behavior whenever they deal with other people within or outside the Jamaat. Under all circumstances they should keep their emotions under control and they should always try to be a personification of Islamic teachings as exemplified by our beloved prophet Hazrat Mohammad (saw). I also spoke about Hazrat Dawood’sas excellent prayer about how to win Allah’s Love and about some other prayers on this subject. Members were also requested to learn prayers that will help them to fight satanic incitements and temptations. Once this sermon is on our website we hope our members would download it and learn these prayers and read them daily incha Allah.

HAZRAT MIRZA GHULAM AHMAD (as)
All the members of our Jamaat should always bear in mind that our Jamaat has an intimate relationship with the Jamaat that was established in 1889 by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), the Promised Messiah. He was born on 23 February 1885 in the village of Qadian, in the district of Gurdaspur in the province of Punjab. This village is situated at about 90 miles from the city of Amritsar, in India. He died on 26th May 1908 at Lahore and he is buried in the paradisiacal cemetery (Bahishti Maqbara) in Qadian.
From 1880 to 1884 he wrote his Magnum opus known as “Buraheen Ahmadiyya”. In that book he set out to give about three hundred logical arguments to prove that Islam, the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw) and the Holy Qur’an are from Allah. He also challenged anybody to come forward to disprove his arguments. He also gave a prize of about 10,000 Indian rupees to anyone who could prove the falsity of not all but at least of about twenty five percent of these arguments. Unfortunately up till now no one has been bold enough or knowledgeable enough to take up this challenge. During his lifetime he wrote about eighty (80) books in Urdu, Arabic or the Persian languages in addition to about one thousand five hundred (1500) pages of pamphlets in Urdu.
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) was that pious, scholarly, Allah-loving, Sunna-adherent person who, under divine instructions launched the Jamaat known as “ Musalmaan Firqa Ahmadiyya” in 1889. He wrote two pamphlets regarding this matter and I will now give you a summary of what he said then.

TABLIGH- PROCLAMATION
The title of the first pamphlet which was written in Urdu was “Tabligh” which can be translated as “Preaching” and it was written on 1st December 1888. A paraphrase of what he said follows:
“And here I would like to convey another message generally to all human beings but in particular to our Muslim brothers. Allah has commanded me to invite all those who are seekers of Truth, of true faith, of true purity of faith and those who want to tread the path that lead to the love of Allah and those who want to leave the slothful, dirty and treacherous way of life to enter into an oath of allegiance with me. Therefore those who think that they possess this capacity in themselves, it is incumbent upon them that they come to me. I will share their pain and I will strive to lighten their burden and Allah will bless my prayers and will bless the attention that I will give them provided they follow all the divine conditions with total devotion. This is a divine instruction that I am conveying today. The revelation which I received about this in Arabic is as follows:
“Iza azamta fatawaqqal alallah , wasna’il foulqa bi, ayyoyena wa wahyena, allazina yobaye’ounaka, innama yobayeounalllah yadoullaha fawqa aydihim”
The translation is as follows: When you are decided, place your trust in Allah; construct this boat under our eyes and our revelation; all those who enter into allegiance with you enter into allegiance with Allah; Allah’s hand is above their hands.
On 12th January 1889 Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) published another pamphlet in Urdu under the title “Completion of the preaching” in which he gave detailed instructions about the conditions which someone has to fulfill if he or she wants to join the Jamaat. These conditions are as follows:

The one who wants to enter into an oath of allegiance (bai’at) shall solemnly promise:

1. That he shall abstain from associating any partner with Allah (Shirk) right up to the day when he shall be put into his tomb.
2. That he shall keep away from falsehood, adultery, ogling at women , debauchery, dissipation, cruelty, dishonesty, mischief and rebellion; and he will not allow himself to be carried away by his passions, however strong they may be.
3. That he shall regularly offer the five daily prayers in accordance with the commandments of Allah and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); and he shall try his best to be regular in offering the pre-dawn supererogatory prayers (Tahajud) and he shall send blessings (Darood) on the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him); and he shall make it a daily routine to ask forgiveness for his sins, to remember the bounties of God with love in his heart and to praise and glorify Him.
4. That, under the impulse of any passion, he shall cause no harm whatsoever to the creatures of Allah in general, and to Muslims in particular, neither by his tongue nor by his hands nor by any other means.
5. That he shall remain faithful to Allah in all circumstances of life, in sorrow and in happiness, in adversity and in prosperity, in felicity and in misfortunes; and he shall under all circumstances remain resigned to the decree of Allah and keep himself ready to face all kinds of indignities and sufferings in His way and he shall never turn his back away in the face of any misfortune; on the contrary, he shall march forward.
6. That he shall refrain from following any un-Islamic custom and any lustful inclination, and he shall completely submit himself to the authority of the Holy Quran; and he shall make the Word of Allah and the Sayings of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) be the guiding principles in every walk of his life.
7. That he shall entirely give up pride and vanity and he shall spend all the days of his life in humbleness as a weak creature, with cheerfulness, forbearance and meekness.
8. That he shall hold the faith, the honor of the faith, and the sympathy for Islam dearer to him than his own life, his wealth, his honor, his children and all his other dear ones.
9. That he shall keep himself busy in the service of Allah's creatures for Allah’s sake only; and he shall try to benefit mankind to the best with his God-given abilities and favors.
10. That he shall enter into a bond of brotherhood with this humble servant of Allah, pledging obedience to me in everything good, for the sake of Allah, and remain faithful to it till the day of his death; and this brotherly bond will be of such a high standard that its likeness will not be found in any other worldly relationship and connection that may exist between a servant and a master.

WHO SHOULD JOIN THE JAMAAT
In the same pamphlet he also said that since almost ten months Allah had already put a brief of these conditions in his mind but he delayed their publications. The reason was that he did not want that all sorts of persons to enter into this Jamaat. His heartfelt wish was that only the blessed people should enter this blessed Jamaat. He wanted that only those who have the quality of sincerity in their nature and not those who are not genuine, who easily change sides and who are doubt-prone should enter this Jamaat. That was why he was waiting for an opportunity that will distinguish between those who were genuine and those who were not, and those who were sincere and those who were hypocrites. Therefore Allah, exalted is His Greatness, in His infinite Mercy and Wisdom brought this opportunity on the occasion of the death of Bashir Ahmad. This was a moment of trial for many who claimed to be the followers of Hazrat Ahmad as. Now let me give you some information about this incident.

INCIDENT ABOUT BASHIR AWWAL
On 20th February 1886 Hazrat Mirza GhulamAhmad (as) published a prophecy in which he said among other things that Allah had informed him that He wiould give him a son who would be endowed with many good qualities. In fact a son was born to him on 7th August 1887and he gave him the name Bashir. Unfortunately that son died about 16 months later on 4th November 1888.Therefore his enemies raised a hue and cry and they said that his claims were false and many of his so-called followers left him at that moment. It was to this incident that Hazrat Ahmad as was referring when he said that it was a defining moment. It helped to distinguish between those who were genuine and those who were false in their declaration of discipleship. Therefore he declared that only those who had a nature that was apt to stay with him remained with him. And those whose faith was not strong enough and who were easily tired and were weak, they left him because they became victims of doubts and evil thoughts. Hence he found it quite appropriate to publish the conditions of allegiance (Bait) at that particular moment. Consequently although few people would come with him, but he would be spared the trouble of the end of those who have gone away. Hazrat Ahmad further said that those who at that moment of trial accepted to enter into an oath of allegiance with him and entered this blessed Jamaat, only such people were his real friends and it was for them that Allah had told him that “I will make them successful over their enemies until the day of Resurrection and they will be accompanied by Mercy and Blessings. With My Permission and under Our Supervision prepare this boat; those who enter into allegiance with you enter into allegiance with Allah. Allah’s Hand will be above their hands.” And He also said: “present your selves with full devotion with all your capacities in front of your Lord and do not leave your Generous God alone because he who leaves Him alone will be left alone”.
At the end of the pamphlet Hazrat Ahmad also asked all those who wanted to enter into an oath of allegiance with him to do the necessary prayers asking for help (istikhara) and then to come to him . He prayed that Allah may be their Helper and that He helped them to bring about a pure change in their life and that He gave them such a soul that would be characterized by truth, purity, love and also that He gave them an awakened conscience.
Today by the Grace of Allah, as the true spiritual inheritors of Hazrat Mirza Gulam Ahmad (as), with utmost humility and with a deeply thankful heart and I wish to inform you all that Allah in His infinite Mercy has vouchsafed to me some of these revelations word for word. In the beginning during the year 2000, I received the revelation in Arabic “wasnail foulka be a’yoyena wa wahyena” which means “prepare this boat with Our Permission and under Our supervision”. Later on in 2002 and recently during this year I received “ Wa jaa’eloul lazinat tabaouka fawqal lazina kafarou ila yawmil qiyama” which means “ I will give those who follow thee success over those who reject thee until the day of Resurrection”. And several times I have received the revelation “Innal lazina yobayeounaka innama yobayeounal alah, yadoullaha fawqa aydihim”i.e “Verily those who swear allegiance to thee indeed, swear allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hand.” And today by the Grace of Allah just before Jummah, I again received these verses as revelation from Almighty Allah. And at the same time I received another revelation as follows in Arabic “Am yaqoulounaf tarahou, Bal howal haqqo mirrabeka falaa takoum menal moumtareen” which means “Do they say ‘He has forged it?’ Nay but it is the Truth from thy Lord, therefore be not of those who doubt.’
I think that the last revelation received today is referring to what our enemies are trying to do to create discord in our Jamaat. Through their intellectual but empty acrobatics and lies they are trying to put doubts in the head of our members so that they may leave our Jamaat. To them and to those who have doubts I will now give the translation of the verses that I read at the beginning of this sermon. Allah says:
“O ye who believe if you obey those who have disbelieved, they will cause you to turn back on your heels and you will become losers.
Nay Allah is Your Protector and He is the Best of helpers.
We shall cast terror into the hearts of those that have disbelieved because they associate partners with Allah for which He has sent down no authority. Their abode is the Fire and evil is the habitation of the wrongdoers.”
Ch 3 V 150-152.

This message is crystal clear. May Allah open the eyes of those who have veiled themselves and they are unable to see light and they live in darkness because they are prisoners of their own convictions. May Allah help each one amongst us to progress in spirituality .May Allah remove all your doubts if you have any. May He make all your steps so firm that no one will budge you from where you are. Strive to become like Hazrat Masih Maood (as) wanted you to be, that is, sincerely devoted to Allah, ever-conscious of His presence, pure-hearted and a soul with an awakened conscience. May our Merciful Lord make this a reality for each one of us. Ameen
