Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen
Friday Sermon of
03 OCTOBER 2008 At Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque |
|
After reciting, Tashahhud, Ta'ouz and surah Al Fatiha of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo'menine Zafrullah Domun recited the following verse of the Holy Quran: Yaa Ayyohal lazina Amanou Lema taqoulouna maa laa taf'aloune. Kabora maqtan indallahé an taqoulou maa laa taf'alouna. ( Ch 61:3, 4 ). He then gave its translation as follows: “O ye who believe why do you say that which you do not. It is most hateful in the eyes of Allah that you say that which you do not do.” Then he said: By the Grace of Allah, after the month of Ramadan we have been able to celebrate Eid ul Fitr and after two days we have another Eid in the form of a Jummah. This also is a blessed day and we should always try to make the most of it, spiritually speaking. For example each one of us should strive to send darood on our beloved prophet because he has said in a hadith that all darood that are made on Fridays are presented to him. He has also told us that the person who will be very close to him in paradise or on the day of resurrection will be the one who has sent most blessings (darood) upon him in this world. So let us not spend these Fridays only in eating and merry making. But let us find some time where we send blessings on the Holy Prophet (saw) as well. These darood will elevate us spiritually and they are a good means of self purification and of the acceptance of prayers. May Allah give each one amongst us the opportunity to understand and to practice these simple advices incha Allah. Recently I spent some time in reading some Alfazl, namely the newspapers that are published by the Jamaat from London and from Rabwah as well. As the mainstream Jamaat has been celebrating the centenary of Khilafat, therefore, most articles deal with this subject. Moreover since all the Jalsa speeches have been about khilafat, extensive coverage of these speeches has also been published. Similarly we read about the extensive tours of the present caliph to different countries followed by detailed accounts of his speeches on different occasions. Thus one can read about the caliph's speech which he delivered in front of several non Ahmadis in Canada and Washington in June this year where he elaborated on Islamic teachings concerning peaceful coexistence and non violence. Quoting extensively from the Holy Quran the Caliph impressed upon his audience the rare gems of the excellent teachings of Islam which are indeed rare gems. He even went so far as saying that we should not even go beyond limits in our hating of our enemies. It is reported that the audience were really impressed by what he said. The speech was very well appreciated at both places and he received a lot of praise for what he said about the excellent teachings of Islam. Similarly recently I read his first speech which he delivered on the first day of the Jalsa Salana in United Kingdom at the end of July 2008. Great emphasis was laid on Taqwa (righteousness) and how Ahmadis should develop good relationship amongst themselves which apparently is missing. The speech was peppered with quotations from the Holy Quran and extracts from writings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) and it appeared to be excellent. Similarly I usually read almost all the summaries of the present caliph's Friday sermons and since he quotes profusely from the writings of Hazrat Masih Maood (as), they can be nothing but a pure spiritual delight. But speaking is quite easy, practice is very difficult. Despite all the talking that khilafat is the key to the solution of all the problems, we see that in many places the nizam-e-Jamaat has become an oppressive system which make Ahmadis do many things that are even against the Holy Quran and glaringly against the teachings of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as). As an example we will talk about the place we know best – Mauritius. The administration of the Jamaat here has become past masters in unleashing oppressive machinery to make those who do not agree with them feel that they are being discriminated against. As I said before most Ahmadis are vying with one another to boycott members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen. You will notice that the more ignorant the Ahmadi is the more biased he has become and he will show more of his enmity either by his looks or his deeds. And that ignorance I am talking about pervades all strata of the Jamaat from head to toe if we can allow ourselves such an expression. You can then imagine the level of ignorance of what Ahmadiyyat stands for in this Jamaat. Some may say that this is the work of the local Amir. But I say that he is the doer yes but most of his actions have the approval of the Centre. If someone were bold enough to contradict me I will present the proofs of what I am saying to show that social boycott of Ahmadis who have been expelled from the Jamaat has the full blessings of the centre. Anyhow Allah knows best. In my previous sermons I have spoken about the infamous action list of repression that the Jamaat employs to make others bow their head to the nizam instead of Allah. Unfortunately today Ahmadis who believe in Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) have suffered under the hand of mainstream Ahmadis the same treatment that ignorant mullahs have been meting out to Ahmadis in Pakistan or Indonesia . There is an unbridgeable gap between the official speech and the unislamic way that Ahmadis have been dealing with their own brothers and sisters. The official speech wants people to believe that the Ahmadiyya point of view is triumphant everywhere in more than 190 countries and that converts are being drawn to it in droves. But those who have inside information know quite well that Jamaat Ahmadiyya does not have 200 million members around the world but yet they want the world to believe that and no attempt is made to correct these figures. What then is a triumph for Jamaat Ahmadiyya: numbers or the moral quality of speaking the truth even against one's own self? The Amir in Mauritius has decorated the main mosque of the Jamaat in Rose Hill with the meaningless slogan: “Love for all hatred for none”. They say something and they do another under the guidance of the Caliph. I am sure that they are not aware what another Caliph, namely Hazrat Mirza Nasir Ahmad (may Allah have mercy upon him) said about this slogan. Let me remind them. May be it may help them. On 5 October 1980 he said in a speech:
In all societies the given word is something that is respected and honored. In English it is said “My word is my Bond”. In Urdu they say “Jaan jayé par wachan na jaaé” which means “we may lose our life but we cannot betray the given word”. An African proverb says “Man finds it's dignity in the given word”. And our master Hazrat Mohammad (saw) has said that one of the characteristics of the hypocrite is that when he promises he betrays. And he has also said that “he who takes back a given gift is like a dog that licks back its vomit.” We all know that the Holy Prophet (saw) said that “I have been raised to perfect good morals”. Jamaat Ahmadiyya has been created to help the people to practice the teachings of the Holy prophet Mohammad (saw). But what do we see today. An Amir forces some persons of the Jamaat to retract marriage invitations that they gave to members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen. Can members of this Jamaat which was created to teach the real teachings of Islam fall so low? You call this Islam! If that is the case your knowledge of Islam is really quite limited. In the history of Islam there is an incident which shows how Muslims of that time cared for the given word. It is as follows:
I can give you some more examples but because of lack of time I will stop with only this one. We Ahmadis, have been brought up to practice the Islam that was taught by the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw) and his companions. Once we see that there is a discrepancy between the words and actions we should know that the time for reform has arrived. The Caliph cannot bring in the necessary reforms because he is part of the system and he cannot extricate himself from it. Allah starts reform by choosing one of his servants and tells him to tell the others that they are not doing well. This is what happened in the past and this is what is happening now. This is the way of Allah. There is no change in the way Allah operates. The caliph and his Amirs may tell otherwise but they cannot substantiate their saying by either the Holy Quran or the writings of Hazrat Masih Maood (as). From Hazrat Masih Maood (as) we have learnt that Allah will renew faith in this Jamaat through people that He will appoint directly and not through caliphs that are appointed through the Electoral College that has been established within the Jamaat for this purpose. Unless and until Allah raises someone through direct revelation these caliphs run the Jamaat. But once a claimant says that Allah has raised him for a purpose there is no raison d'être of the caliph. The direct appointment by Allah supersedes all other appointments. I know that it is very difficult for the Ahmadis to understand this. Allah has put them to a trial and up till now most of them have failed in this trial. Most of the Ahmadis will tell you that they are Mowahids that is they strictly follow Tauhid. But they “say with their mouths that which is not in their hearts”. There was a time when I was explaining to them about khilafat they all followed me. Why? Because they obeyed what the caliph was saying. But today when I am telling them that Allah has appointed me as a guide to them, most of them are just turning their back. They have to sit and reflect. Who is greater the caliph or Allah? Of course the answer is ALLAH. If they love Allah and they obey Allah why then they reject what Allah says ? Allah is my witness that I have not yet prayed that Allah sends punishment on the people for their rejection. Up till now I have been praying for their salvation. Allah sends guides for the people to be saved not for them to be ruined. But when the people follow their own base instincts and ignore what Allah has provided for them, Allah may punish them. Recently Allah has been giving me revelations such as “Fa hal mim Moddakkir” which means “Is there anyone to take heed ?” and “Fa kaifa kaana azabi wa nozur” which means “How terrible was My Punishment and My Warning.” These words are repeated several times in Surah Al Qamar (ch54). Read it and see for yourself what Allah is saying in it. Allah has also told me “Inna la nansoro rosolona wallazina amanou fil hayaatiddounya wal yawmil aakhera” which means “Most surely we help our messengers and those who believe in the present world and on the day of resurrection also”. Furthermore He has said: "Inna Azabi la waqe'oune, maa lahou min daafé" which means “My Punishment will definitely come- no one will be able to avert it.” I have already quoted above what Allah says about those who say something but they do something else. We should be very vigilant lest such a bad trait is found in ourselves. In Sahih Muslim there is a hadith which is as follows: “A man will be brought on the day of Resurrection and thrown into hell- fire and his intestines will pour forth in hell and he will go along with them, as an ass goes around a milestone. The denizens of hell would gather round him and say: O so and so what has happened to you? Were you not enjoining us to do what was reputable and forbade us to do what was disreputable? He will say: “Of course it is so; I used to enjoin others to do what was reputable but did not practice it myself. I had been forbidding people to do what was disreputable, but practiced it myself.”(Bukhari Vol 8 -2989) I have a mission from Allah. Several times He has told me “In Anta illa Nazir”, which means “You are but a Warner”. It is my hope and wish and prayer that the people pay attention to what I am saying. It would be foolish on their part to ignore me. I have given them an open invitation but unfortunately no one has accepted to come to talk with me. For God's sake I hope that they will have some mercy on their own souls before it is too late. To end I invite you all to reflect on the following verse of the Holy Quran and take your own conclusions:
