Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen

Friday Sermon of Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Zafrullah Domun

Friday Sermon 8th February 2008

------------------------------------

Whatever wrong ideas were published against Islam, Hazrat Ahmad as, the Promised Messiah, published a rejoinder.

"Jesus, son of Mary, Messenger of Allah has died, and you have come according to the promise in his spirit" (was revealed to him)

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) was a man of Truth. He did not like what was false.

Since November 2006 I have been making several Friday sermons in which I have pointed out that members of the Worldwide Jamaat Ahmadiyya are on the wrong track in some of their beliefs.

“And they were not commanded but to serve Allah, being sincere in obedience to Him”

I am ready to talk to anyone about what I am saying.

------------------------------------

After reading the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo’menine Zafrullah Domun said:

The heritage of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) to all sincere members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya who believe him to be the Promised Messiah and Mahdi is incomparable. Of course here we are not speaking at all about worldly wealth. He did not have much. We are speaking here about the spiritual treasures that he dug for us at the cost of severe hardships and deprivations. In order to be blessed by the vast spiritual treasures that he received he had to fast for long periods, pray fervently, sleep very little, devote himself to deep study of many subjects specially the Holy Quran and also spend a lot of time in the remembrance of Allah. As a result of these spiritual practices he was blessed with plenty of revelations from Allah. He received an unparalleled knowledge of the Holy Quran and Islam and his prayers were accepted. In addition He transformed the life of many of his devotees and he formed a Jamaat that had to carry on his work for all time to come.

In order to carry out his God-given mission, in the beginning he wrote many articles and pamphlets. After a lot of research he wrote his book “Buraheen Ahmadiyya”. During his lifetime he wrote approximately eighty books in Urdu, Persian or Arabic. He participated in debates with Muslims, Hindus and even Christians in order to show the beauty and superiority of Islamic Teachings. Whatever wrong ideas were published against Islam, he published a rejoinder. He was very active in defending and showing the wisdom underlying the teachings of Islam. His arguments against the second coming of Jesus Christ in person are irrefutable. At first he believed like the majority of Muslims that Jesus Christ would come back to earth and he even published this in his book. But later on through revelation Allah told him that Hazrat Isa (as) was dead and that he had been sent in his place. The words of the revelation are as follows:

“Masih Ibné Maryam rasoulloul lah fawt ho chouka hai- Aur ous ké rang mein ho kar wa’da ké mowafiq tou aya. Wa kaana wa’dallahé maf’oula. Anta Minni wa anta alal haqqil mobin. Anta mosiboun wa mo’inoun lil haqqé”

The translation is as follows:
“Jesus, son of Mary, Messenger of Allah has died, and you have come according to the promise in his spirit. Allah’s promise is bound to be fulfilled. You are from Me and you are established on patent truth. You are on the path that will bring you rewards. You are a helper of truth.”[Izala Awhaam pp561-62]

His researches into this matter culminated in the writing of his book “Masih Hindustan mein” which was published in 1898 in India. Later on it was published under the title “Jesus in India”. Since then there has been a plethora of books written on this subject in the western world. But what we should note is that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (a.s) was among the first who said that Jesus tomb is found in Kashmir.

As we see from the revelation quoted above, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (a.s) was a man of Truth. He hated what was false. As soon as Allah made it clear to him that Hazrat Isa (a.s), son of Mary had died, he abandoned his belief and adopted what Allah told him to be the true belief. Allah confirms that he was a person who helped the truth. In many other revelations also Allah confirmed that what he was saying was the truth per se and “Wa man asdaqo menallahé qila”, which means “who is more truthful in His words than Allah?

If the founder of Jamaat Ahmadiyya was a truthful man, we, as his followers cannot in the least say or believe in anything that may be false. It is our duty to try to know the truth underlying all things. Hazrat Masih Maood (as) taught us the following prayer “Allah houmma areni haqa’iqal ashyaaa” which means “O Our Lord teach us the reality of all things”. In this prayer, the things spoken about have not been defined; therefore it has a very vast meaning. It may mean ‘truth’ concerning the material and spiritual universe. If we ask Allah to help us to understand these universes, and if we are sincere in our search, definitely, Allah will guide us to such truths that we were unaware of. Let us pray and hope that Allah enlightens all true and sincere members of the Jamaat to such ‘truths’ incha Allah.

Since November 2006 I have been making several Friday sermons in which I have pointed out that members of the Worldwide Jamaat Ahmadiyya are on the wrong track in some of their beliefs. As a matter of fact, I have pointed out from the relevant quotations in the books of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) that they are holding such beliefs that were not those of the founder of the Jamaat himself. In one of the recent revelations that I received Allah helped me to understand that the members of the Jamaat Ahmdiyya were given the following instruction:

“Wa maa omerou illa lé ya’bodoullaha mukhleseena lahouddin”

This is part of verse six of chapter 98, Al Bayyina of the Holy Quran. Its translation is as follows “And they were not commanded but to serve Allah, being sincere in obedience to Him”. The meaning of this verse is so deep that Hazrat Mirza Bashir uddin Mahmood Ahmad (ra) has written about twelve pages in his Tafsir Kabir to explain its different meanings. Moreover in the year 1969 from May to November Hazrat Khalifatul Masih III devoted about ten Friday sermons to the whole verse in order to explain the Islamic economic system. If I start to summarize what these two caliphs have said I will have to devote some sermons only to this subject. So I have chosen for today to give you a paraphrase of what Hazrat Mirza Bashir uddin Mahmood Ahmad (ra) has written in his commentary but which is not available in English.

He says: “Allah says ‘Wa maa omerou illa lé ya’bodoullaha’, that is ‘and they were not commanded but that they worship Allah’, “mukhleseena lahouddin, that is being sincere in devotion to Him only. As we have already explained one of the meanings of ‘Din’ is ‘obedience’. That is to say they reserved their obedience only to Allah. In other words it means, their holy men, their pundits, their priests, their soothsayers, their monks and their learned ones held them in bondage. Consequently, humanity was at the mercy of these people and they were being debased and down trodden. When Mohammad (s.a.w) came, he did not call these people to become his personal slaves or to leave those whom they were following and to become his followers. But Mohammad (s.a.w) told them to cut loose the obedience of all these people and to be devoted only to Allah. These were not such words that should have made them angry or should have excited their hatred. It was simply words that were said for their own good and presented to them with love. But instead of thinking on these words and bring about the necessary changes in themselves, they became angry and they began to oppose Mohammad (s.a.w) with all sorts of stratagems. In matters of the world, whenever someone tells another person about something that would benefit him, the latter is grateful because he understands that he was wrong and that person has pointed out his mistakes to him and protected him from ruin. Mohammad (s.a.w) pointed out to these simpleminded people that he would show them the path that would deliver them from this servitude of “Arbaabam min dounillahé”, that is to say “the other deities besides Allah” to which they have been subjected to since a long time. He told them that they had invented these deities for themselves and they worship them. Such worship necessarily degrades man and is an insult to Allah, the true Deity. So instead of accepting him they stood up to oppose him because they told him that he was trying to corrupt their religion.

In fact when we ponder upon this verse we can easily understand how by worshipping Allah alone and being solely devoted to him, man can liberate himself from all sorts of chains that try to enslave him. Such chains may be his passions, his dear ones, his learned ones, his wealth, his honor, his knowledge, his prejudices, his belief system you name it. In these words are found the Independence Manifesto of Islam to all the people of the world for all times to come. True liberation is to be totally and wholeheartedly devoted to the real Creator, that is, Allah. If you think you can really find freedom in the true sense of the world in any other way, you are only fooling yourself.

Hazrat Mirza Bashir uddin Mahmood Ahmad (ra) goes on to explain that in this verse the message of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (s.a.w) was that “people should worship none but Allah.” Furthermore, he says that in this verse Allah has explained the necessity for the arrival of messengers and prophets from Allah. That message is as follows: “When you do not know what is beneficial to you because your mental capacities have declined so much, then if in such a lowly state Allah does not send you a prophet to reform you when will He send one? A prophet comes when the people have fallen so low that they cannot differentiate between what is good and what is bad for them. When “Corruption has appeared on the earth and in the sea” Holy Quran Ch. 30: v. 42, and people’s moral and spiritual capacities are almost dead, and yet they think that they do not need any reformer, that moment is the most propitious time for the coming of someone from Allah to save them or else all will be finished.”

Now why is it that Allah reveals this portion of the verse to me? If previously the common men were obeying priests, monks, pundits, holy men, soothsayers, Allah sent them Mohammad (s.a.w) to liberate them from these gods. Today within Jamaat Ahmadiyya the system is molding the way people are behaving. This is the Jamaat that was created in the first instance to help mankind know their true Lord and develop the people’s physical, mental and moral and spiritual capacities to its full potential. Unfortunately within the Jamaat we see that no great value is given to the search for truth or to establish a true relationship with Allah or even to practice basic good human relationships. Open-mindedness is being shunned, prejudice is being cultivated. We see such ugly behavior within the Jamaat that would even shame a diehard sinner. In such circumstances one should not wonder if Allah sends someone from Himself to warn the people that their behavior is wrong. They are practicing Islam in name only when they are obeying their misguided leaders. Did not our beloved prophet Mohammad (pbuh) warn us against misguided leaders or those totally bereft of righteousness? Did he not say “Innama akhafo ala ummati al ‘aimmatal muzilline”(Abu Dawood, Tirmizi). It means “I fear for my ummat misguided leaders”.

There is a need for the Jamaat as a whole to understand that they have to turn to Allah and to worship Him alone. Allah’s words are supreme. This is His message to all the members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya around the world that they have to worship Him alone. Khilafat has become one of your “arbaabam min dounillah”, that is to say another God besides Allah. Despite the fact that you are unable to distinguish between what is good and what is bad, you insist that your caliph is sufficient; you do not need any other one besides him. The commentary of Hazrat Mirza Bashir uddin Mahmood Ahmad (r.a) on the verse quoted above proves you are wrong.

Anyhow Allah will not just let you go astray. He cares for you and that is why he has sent this humble one to put you all back on track. Now let us refer back to what I was saying about Hazrat Masih Maood (as) in the beginning of my sermon. He worked tirelessly to argue his case. He changed his opinion about the coming of Hazrat Isa when he understood from Allah that he would not come back on earth again. That was to his credit. It showed his broadmindedness and his courage. But what is the administration of the Jamaat at present doing? Nothing has been written to explain that according to them I am wrong and on the wrong path. If they are true to their initial mission, they should write and explain that according to the Holy Quran, the Ahadiths, and the Books of the Promised Messiah I am completely off track.

According to me, there are at least four possible reasons for their silence. The first one is that they do not want to reply to me because by so doing they will publicize what I am saying. If the majority of the members of the Jamaat are kept in the dark, so much the better. Secondly, they are totally at a loss to counteract the arguments that are being put forward. If they try they will be ridiculed because they would be forced to say things that are contrary to what Hazrat Masih Maood (as) has said. Therefore they do not know what to do. Thirdly they are adopting a wait-and-see attitude. Fourthly they think that what I am saying might be true but they do not know how to ascertain it. Allah knows best what the truth is!

As far as I am concerned, I tell you again I am ready to talk to anyone about what I am saying in a very civilized way. If I am wrong I will appreciate that you show me my mistakes. However if you are wrong, you should accept yours and we move forward together for the benefit of Ahmadiyyat and Islam incha Allah.

Nonetheless before leaving I wish to tell you that this morning I have received the following revelation:

“Sa waa’oune alai’him, a ,anzartahoum am lam tounzir houm , laa you’menoune”

which means, of course, “it will the same to them whether you warn them or not, they will not believe.”

I think no message can be clearer. Ahmadis need to think about this before it is too late.

May Allah remove the veils and help them to see the truth as it is.

Ameen.
