After reciting, Tashahhud, Ta'uz and chapter Al Fatiha of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amirul Mo'menine Zafrullah Domun said: These days there are so many things happening that it has been difficult for me to choose one particular topic to talk about. I will therefore in this sermon touch upon several topics. Several times in the past we have spoken about the objectives of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen. Today you may read on the net that there is someone who says that Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen is his because the name was revealed to him. Others are saying that Zafrullah and his group have hijacked this Jamaat. Others are even saying that there is no raison d'être at all of this Jamaat, it has no base at all. Similarly there are those who are of the opinion that it has nothing new to contribute because the mainstream Jamaat fulfills all the objectives for which it stands. To begin with I will say like Shakespeare “What's in a name; a rose by any other name will smell as sweet.” But however hard you will try to want the people to believe that copper is gold, this deceit will be revealed only by a mere scratch. Today there are many in the mainstream and others who want you to believe of their gold-like nature but for those who really know the properties of metals their deception is immediately brought to the surface. This matter has been well explained by Hazrat Masih Maood (as) in his most interesting booklet “The Need of The Imam” available online at www.alislam.org . Today I want you all to know that in the light of the knowledge of Islam that Allah had given me, immediately after our expulsion from the mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya I said that we should have a Jamaat of our own. But this matter was delayed but eventually what I had recommended had to be implemented. Hence Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen came into being. But it was not nor is it the property of any individual. As per the laws of this country as an association it had to follow certain rules in the way it takes decisions and it is the managing committee that has to execute these rules. In that matter all individuals are equal. Decision making is by consensus or by majority vote. This is also exactly what Hazrat Masih had in mind when he created Anjuman Ahmadiyya in 1905. As per the provisions of the “Registration of Associations Act” the Managing Committee has no right to expel any member from the association without hearing the defense that the member has to give. In other words there should be no arbitrary expulsion. But we are all well aware that The Ahmadiyya Association of Mauritius has expelled several of its members without giving them any chance to defend themselves. The reason of these expulsions has always been by a fiat from the Head of the worldwide organization acting on the recommendation of the Amir of the country. This is not something new. This has been going for the past hundred years. Yet you will hear around the world, the caliph saying that they are an organization that abides by the law of the country where they live and yet they deny their own members the basic human rights. This has been so because Jamaat Ahmadiyya cannot tolerate dissent and discussion. They prefer to rule by diktats; it is easier. But this is not what The Holy Quran says. Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen strives to follow the Shariah. The Holy Quran tells the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw
Hence as a leader we should always try to conduct the affairs of the community by shura. As far as we were concerned in Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen, we wanted to put that ideal in practice and we met with utter resistance from someone who has confessed that he likes to work in solo and that his mandate is from Allah and he is not accountable to any men or Amila. Yet we know that this instruction was given to the Greatest of the Great, that is, the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw, whose understanding of Allah would never be equaled by anyone until the end of the world. Hence there was an inability to understand the purport of the revelations because the proper knowledge was missing. Hazrat Masih Maood (as) has told us that any revelation that goes against the Holy Quran has to be discarded but not all recipient of revelations can understand this and that is why so many have harmed themselves throughout the history of Islam. I will give you another example. Hazrat Masih Maood (as) has told us in many of his writings that we should refer to him as “a prophet of the umma” and we should not use only the word “prophet” for him. Now you tell me how someone who says that Allah is talking to him and he says he follows Hazrat Masih Maood (as) and he announces everywhere that he is “a prophet”. Only such a person can do this who does not know exactly what Hazrat Masih has written on these matters. In the light of this verse of the Holy Quran and many others of a similar nature, any Jamaat that says it is divine should run its affairs according to the Shariah. But this is difficult when the people do not know about the Shariah. I remember having read somewhere that in the early days of the Khilafat of the second caliph he said that 98 % of the members of the Jamaat were illiterate. The illiteracy rate now in Pakistan is around 46 %. But how many persons really know about the teachings of the Promised Messiah. Today we understand better why Hazrat Masih (as) said that “he who does not read my books at least three times would exhibit signs of arrogance.”This is a quote from memory and so the exact wording may be different but the substance is the same. Incha Allah Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen will try to help all the Ahmadis to know what “spiritual heritage” Hazrat Masih Maood (as) has left for each one of them. It is there for the taking. How very beautifully he has said this in an Urdu couplet. This also I am quoting from memory:
We can translate this as follows:
Now the Jamaat has been in existence for about almost 100 years but yet the efforts to spread the teachings of Hazrat Masih among the Ahmadis have been, to say the least, quite limited. There is no denying the fact that the Jamaat has been able to open mission in about 190 countries. But you will agree with me that opening missions, building mosques, organizing Jalsas, visiting Houses of Parliament, giving enormous amount of money to be spent in the path of Allah are nothing if the Jamaat members are not accomplishing the twin objectives for which Allah sent us the Messiah, namely establishing the rights of men and the rights of Allah. That is to say each Ahmadi should fulfill the rights of his brothers and sisters and at the same time they should fulfill the rights that Allah have upon them. Hazrat Masih distributed “spiritual treasures” in his writings and speeches. But up till today most of these treasures are still buried in the Urdu language. The number of Books that have been translated into other languages up till now are quite limited. If there is a published list I would have liked to know about it. But they are insignificant. Today when you tell someone that Hazrat Masih has said something. They ignore what you say completely and they continue to tell the innocent Ahmadis lies about the real teachings of Hazrat Ahmad (as). The Jamaat keeps telling you that Khilafat Ahmadiyya is sufficient to keep the Jamaat on the tracks established by Hazrat Masih (as). In fact those who have accepted Hazrat Masih are really blessed in that they have accepted someone who came from Allah and he received the heritage of the Holy Prophet which he wanted to give us. In Tazkirah English version we read:
This is the second version of the text. You may read the detailed version on www.alislam.org page 284-5. This vision and some others show clearly that there will be some persons in Jamaat Ahmadiyya who would try to distort the teachings of Hazrat Ahmad (as) but, that Allah will rout these enemies. Today by the Grace of Allah we are showing many instances where the Jamaat has gone far away from the teachings of Hazrat Ahmad (as). Beliefs have been modified to include belief in khilafat as defined by the Jamaat's Establishment and not as defined by Hazrat Masih Maood (as). The system of collection of chanda has been modified. Contrary to the true teachings of the Messiah, the Establishment wants its people not to believe in anyone who claim he has come from Allah unless he is the caliph. They have closed the door for the coming of reformers and they are for the time being occupying the garden of the Messiah. If this dream applies to this situation as it is most likely Allah will not let those who want to destroy Hazrat Ahmad's garden to succeed. They have introduced too many beliefs contrary to the original teachings. Incha Allah Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen will do its best to let the world know about the real teachings of Hazrat Ahmad (as). The Ahmadiyya Association of Mauritius has paid for a Markazi Delegate (delegate from the centre) to come here to participate in their Jalsa which is being held this weekend. This delegate is a great propagandist of the prevalent teachings of the Jamaat especially the wrong ideas about khilafat. There is no doubt in my mind that he has been imported in order to give a boost to the morale of the troops who are quite down since the cancellation of the Jalsa in Qadian. He usually speaks at the Jalsa in London . He is paid to defend a system and hence he can do but that. He is not at all free like we are to question whether what the system defends is truth or untruth. To him and his likes there is no need to ask such questions. They have to tow the line because the caliph has always to be right even if he is wrong! Most probably he will give the Mauritian Ahmadis some explanations about the wrong statement of their caliph in the International Message of 27th May 2008. Any how let us wait and see. Since some time I wanted to consult the 19 Volumes of the History of Ahmadiyyat in Urdu in order to verify some historical facts. I tried to get these books from Qadian but I did not get any reply. I tried Canada but they ignored my mail. I sent mails through another person; again I did not have any success. I prayed to Allah to open a way for me to get these books. Eventually a noble and generous Ahmadi from India was kind enough to send me these books. Alhamdolillah . I received the first batch of books on the day of Eid ul Adha and I was overwhelmed with joy. Incha Allah the other books would be forthcoming. Incha Allah when I have read what I am looking for I will tell the world a few things about the Jamaat of which they are not aware up till now. May Allah give me the Taufiq to help the people to distinguish between what is true and what is false. As I said I have many other things to talk about but unfortunately time does not allow us to speak more today. |
