After reciting Tashahhud, Tauz and the first chapter of the Holy Quran, Hazrat Amir ul Mo’menine Zafrullah Domun said:

Last week I spoke about two extracts from the writings of Hazrat Masih Maood as in which he has given us a picture of what type of Muslim he was expecting each one of us to be. As you might have noticed these extracts speak for themselves. There is no need to give any additional explanations. In fact you will notice when you read or hear the words written or spoken by Hazrat Masih Maood as how moving and lasting are the effects of his words on your heart if you really are someone who aspire to fulfill the mission of your life, namely to know Allah. Therefore, it will be a real pity and a great loss if being Ahmadis we ignore his teachings and live our life in negligence and total ignorance of what he said.

Although all the writings of the Promised Messiah have not yet been translated into the English language where it would be easier for most people to read and understand, yet if we make an effort we can read what is available up to now and profit by what he has said. These days we see that most people are attracted towards the world and very few are concerning themselves with the spiritual life. Although in Islam we do not dissociate the temporal and the spiritual yet we see that less and less people are attracted to achieve success in their total life. They appear to be more concerned with success in this life. But the Holy Quran tells us “the enjoyment of this life compared to the next is very little.” So any right thinking person would aim for what is more rather than what is little. Since everything good is in Allah’s hand therefore we should seek everything from Him and from no one or nowhere else.

There is a famous hadith Qudsi which says Allah said: “I was a hidden treasure and I liked to be known and I created Adam”. Before I proceed allow me to explain what a hadith Qudsi is. In most hadith you will hear a narrator saying that he heard the Holy Prophet saw say something like for example “A Muslim is the mirror of another Muslim” or “cleanliness is half faith” etc. But in a hadith Qudsi the Holy Prophet saw says “Allah has told me or Allah says”. But these sayings or words of Allah do not form part of the Holy Quran. In other words although these are revealed words but they do not form part of the Revealed Book. This is an important distinction that we should always bear in mind. Hence man’s mission on earth is to have access to this hidden treasure. But this is not an easy task. The journey to this treasure is long and very hard. Only those who are most persistent and steadfast will succeed. In order to help each member of Jamaat Ahmadiyya to succeed Hazrat Masih Maoodas has left for us spiritual treasures which will facilitate our journey and help us to complete our journey.

Before I give you a few extracts from his book Noah’s ark (kishti Nuh) I want you to know and note that Hazrat Masih Maood as has recommended us to read this book often. Furthermore Allah tells The Holy Prophet Mohammad saw in the Holy Quran “ Fa zakkir inafa’atiz zikra” which we translate as “So keep on admonishing people ; surely admonition is indeed profitable”. Personally I have remarked that every time I re-read this book or some extracts from it, I feel spiritually invigorated. In fact I think that if each Ahmadi had really understood the purpose of the coming of Hazrat Ahmadas he would have read this book from cover to cover many times in his lifetime. This book is so important for our spiritual life that we should not do without it. If one really wants to understand the mission of Hazrat Masih Maood as he should endear himself to this book.

It is true that from time to time I do criticize the behavior of Ahmadis especially that of their leaders. But I cannot fail to say how much I appreciate the initiative that the leadership in Pakistan have taken to help the Ahmadis to read and understand Hazrat Masih’s book “The reality of Revelation”(Haqiqatul Wahi) which he finished about a month before he died. A method has been devised and help is being given via the newspaper Al Fazl to help everyone to understand the book by explaining the difficult words in modern Urdu language. Moreover I am happy that this book has been chosen because by reading it an Ahmadi will easily understand the world of revelation. He will find release from the mental cell in which some official discourse has imprisoned him. Consequently he will be in a better position to distinguish between true and false revelations. Furthermore he will appreciate what weapons Hazrat Masih Maood as left for him so that he might never be led astray by those who say that this revelation is the privilege of a few persons because of their man-given status within society. Those who read this book will easily understand that revelation is a divine gift with which Allah gratifies some of His Servants from time to time.

Some extracts from this book were published in the English Language in the “Review of Religion” in the nineteen seventies or eighties. I humbly propose that the mainstream Jamaat will help others by putting these extracts on their website. Besides I should also say that I wholeheartedly appreciate the speech that the present caliph delivered on the subject of revelation in his concluding address to the UK Jalsa on 26th July 2009. I am happy that he has told the world that revelation is a continuous institution and will never stop. Quoting profusely from the Holy Quran and the writings of Hazrat Masih Maoodas, the caliph has spoken elaborately on the need for revelation whenever corruption finds its way in religious institutions. On this matter incha Allah I will soon publish a booklet with a view to elucidate some more points and to show the apparent contradiction that exists between official Ahmadiyya speak and common practice and common Ahmadiyya beliefs.

Now to come back to what I was saying about the extract from the book Kishti Nuh , Hazrat Masih Maood as says about Allah:

Relevant to a proper observance of my teaching it is essential that one should firmly believe that there is an all-Powerful, all Sustaining Supreme Being, the Creator of everything, Changeless, Everlasting and Eternal. He does not beget, nor was He begotten. He is Holy, so that there is no need or occasion for Him to go on the Cross, or suffer in any way, or be subject to death. He is such that being far removed, He is still very near; and being very near, He is still very far. Although He is One, and absolutely unique, His manifestations are diverse and multifarious. Whenever there occurs in man a new change, for the changed man He becomes a new God, dealing with him on the basis of a fresh manifestation, the man witnessing a change in God in proportion to the change in himself - not that there occurs any change in God, He being Eternal, Changeless and most Perfect in Himself; but with every change in man for the better, God also reveals Himself to him in a fresh and clearer manifestation. With every progressive effort on the part of man God also shows Himself with higher and more powerful manifestation. He displays an extraordinary manifestation of His power and glory only, when man shows an extraordinary change in himself-this being the root and the bedrock basis of the marvels and miracles witnessed at the hands of all servants of God. Belief in this God, with these powers, is the foremost essential condition of our Movement. Inculcate this belief in your hearts, giving to its implications and requirements the first and top most priority over all considerations of self, over its comforts and relationships. By means of actions in the field of your daily life, with unflinching courage, show a steadfast loyalty in His way. Others in this world do not give Him preference over material means and the support they hope to get from their friends and relations. But do you give him the first place, so that in heaven you should come to be reckoned His people.”

Then he explains to us what we should do to partake of Allah’s special blessings. He says:

To show signs of grace is the eternal way of God. But you can partake of this blessing only when there remains no difference and no distance between Him and you; only when all your wishes, hopes and .desires merge into His will; only when at all times, in success or failure, in hope or disappointment, you remain in humble prostration at His door, so that He should do with you what He wills. If you act like this, in you would appear that God, Who for a long time has kept His face concealed from the world. Is there any among you, then, who would act upon this teaching, seeking only His pleasure, without the slightest sense of dissatisfaction against the way His will works? Even in distress you should put your best foot forward, for this is the secret of your success; and you should strive to the utmost of your power to spread the idea of His singleness and unity all over the earth. Be kind and merciful to humanity, for all are His creatures: do not oppress them with your tongue, or hands, or in any other way. Always work for the good of mankind.

Never unduly assert yourselves with pride over others, even those who are placed under you. Never use abusive language for anyone, even though he abuses you. Be humble in spirit, kind and gentle and forgiving, sympathetic towards all and wishing them well, so that you should be accepted. There are many who pretend to be kind, gentle and forgiving, but inside they are wolves; there are many on the outside who look pure, but in their hearts they are serpents. You cannot be accepted in the presence of the Lord unless you are pure, both on the outside and inside. If you are big, have mercy for those who are small - not contempt; if you are wise and well versed in learning serve the ignorant with words of wisdom: never desire to bring disgrace on their ignorance by trying to show off your own learning. If you are rich, instead of treating them with self-centered disdainful pride, you should serve the poor. Beware of the paths of destruction. Fear the Lord, be righteous, do not fall in worship before the creation of God. Turn wholly and solely to Him, so that you lose interest in this world. Become entirely His, living wholly for His will and pleasure, for His sweet sake, hating everything impure and sinful; for indeed He is Holy. Every morning should be a witness for you that you spent the night with righteousness, and every evening should be a witness for you that you went through the day with the fear of God in your heart.”

By the Grace of Allah, Incha Allah next week we will enter into the blessed month of Ramazan. According to information that I have received most probably fasting will start on Saturday next. As from now on all of us should take the firm resolution that incha Allah we will fast with a view to meeting the God that has been described above. May Allah make fasting easy and enjoyable for all of us and may He be pleased with all of us. Ameen.
