After reading the Tashahhud , the Ta'uz and the first chapter of the Holy Quran Hazrat Amirul Mo'menine Zafrullah Domun said:

While preparing these sermons I have had to research the life of the family of Hazrat Molvi Nuruddin (ra). I noticed from my readings that the literature published by the mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya is quite silent upon the children of Hazrat Molvi Nuruddin (ra). I kept wondering why. Until I read the speech of Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II in Jalsa Salana 1956. There I came to know that the son of Molvi Hakim Nuruddin, Mian Abdul Mannan saheb was expelled from the Jamaat together with his wife and children, his brother's widow and their children also. It is then that I understood why the history of the Jamaat is so silent about them. I am still pursuing my investigations about this family and it appears that they have been sorely persecuted by the establishment of the Jamaat. But since they were the children of a very pious person, Allah did not abandon them. It appears that they have flourished around the world. Once my investigation is completed I will speak about them especially about Mian Abdul Mannan incha Allah in greater details.

By the way I would like to tell you that when his father died in 1914, he was only four years old and he died in 2005 in the USA and he is buried in Lahore in Pakistan . He lived for about 96 years. His life history is very fascinating.

Now I will come to Mauritius. I will tell you what has been going on over here. As you are well aware in Jamaat Ahmadiyya Mauritius, the Ahmadiyya establishment has been very keen to apply a social boycott on members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemine. Ahmadis stopped greeting us with salaams; they look askance at us. The Amir tries to systematically impose on some (not all) members not to invite us to their marriage ceremonies and if we would be present he threatens not to attend these ceremonies. The Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw) came to teach us good morals. Hazrat Masih Maood (as) came to teach us the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammad (saw). But unfortunately Jamaat Ahmadiyya these days especially the one in Mauritius acting on the directives of the caliph is forcing its members to practice what is thoroughly unislamic. In a well known hadith the holy prophet Mohammad (saw) said that he who takes a gift that he has given is comparable to a dog that eats its vomit. The Amir of the Jamaat in Mauritius forces some of his members to become like that dog. So much pressure are exerted on some members that they have been forced to withdraw marriage invitation cards that they had given to some of our members. This is another aspect of the ugly face of the Nizam of the Jamaat that is manifesting itself these days. Meanwhile instead of upholding the slogan “Love for all hatred for none”, the mainstream Jamaat prefers to uphold “Love for all but hatred for some”.

Similarly acting on spite and hatred, in the beginning an Ahmadiyya Mosque was closed on an Eid day by the Amir so that we might not say our prayers over there. When my father died in September 2006, the Amir told the members of the Jamaat in his Friday sermon that they should not attend the Janaza. But there were some bold members who ignored his instructions and did attend. In brief the establishment of Jamaat Ahmadiyya in Mauritius has been very keen to apply the directives that they received from the centre from the caliph even though it meant flouting the clear-cut instructions of the Holy Quran and the practice of the Holy prophet Mohammad (saw).

Now, someone may ask what is the connection between Molvi Nuruddin (ra), the members of his family, Mian Mannan and the boycott that the Establishment of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Mauritius has been systematically applying against the members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemine with the zeal of the inquisitors who killed Christians for their beliefs. There is a deep connection. During the past two months I have been speaking to you about Molvi Nuruddin (ra). You have heard about many aspects of his life: his devotion to the cause of Ahmadiyyat, his piety, his sincerity. When he was dying, his children were quite young. One of them was only an infant. Hazrat Masih Maood (as) said that no one has helped him as much as Molvi Nuruddin did. Yet his children would be thrown out of the Jamaat. For the time being I will not go into the reason of this move. But you should know that applying social boycott on some of its members is a distinctive feature of Jamaat Ahmadiyya's history. This is a practice which is totally alien to Islam but yet all the caliphs beginning with the second one has been making a systematic use of it in order to exercise social control. Mian Abdul Mannan says that he never put this order of the caliph into practice against any Ahmadi. He defied it. He was a man who feared only Allah and he relied only upon Allah. Similarly in Mauritius my maternal uncle, Nasruddin Ramjaun ignored the instructions of the Amir in August last year and invited us to the marriage of his son. These are the people endowed with great courage. They know that they have to uphold Allah's and the Holy Prophet's teachings and not that of any man whatever his status.

All such persons are not in the good books of the mainstream Jamaat Ahmadiyya because to stay there you need only to obey and indulge even in unislamic practices. Such is the state of Jamaat Ahmadiyya these days. But Allah says repeatedly in the Holy Quran that He is with the true believers and He will make a distinction between them and the others. That is the reason why, with His Permission Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemine has been created so that the real ideals for which Allah allowed Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) to create Jamaat Ahmadiyyat may live on.

By the Grace Allah, today because of the internet we are able to know what we could not know before. In addition we are able to know much more than what we could have known before. Today we can have access to documents that would have been inaccessible before. Therefore if someone wants to know about past events he is in a better position today to access many documents without let or hindrance. Hence it is thanks to the internet and the accessibility of some documents that we are able to know more about some events as they happened in the past. Although previously we knew about the history of the Jamaat in the time of Hazrat Masih Maood (as), it is only now that we are learning more about the history of the Jamaat during the caliphate of the second caliph. And I have to tell you that some aspects of this history do not seem to be palatable at all and they would be very disturbing for the sensitive ears of all diehard Ahmadis. But on these matters I will speak when I have completed my research and after I have verified all the sources. Allah knows best.

Now I will give you some more details of the life of Hazrat Molvi Nuruddin (ra). When he lived in Bhera he was married to Fatima Sahiba (daughter of Sheikh Mukarram Sahib Bhervi) They had nine sons and five daughters but all their children died at an early age. When he came to Qadian, upon the advice of Hazrat Masih Maood (as) he married Sughra Begum (daughter of Sufi Ahmad Jaan Sahib) and she was known as Ammaji . From his second wife he had one daughter, Hazrat Amatul Hayee, who was later married to Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II in 1914 and who died in 1926. Ammaji gave him in addition six sons. Many of his children died in childhood. Some of the children who survived him are as follows: Hazrat Amatul Hayee, Mr. Abdul Hayee, Mr. Abdus Salaam, Mr. Abdul Wahhaab Mr. Abdul Mannaan . All the preceding names are his children from his second wife. The following daughters from his first wife also survived him: Umaamah, Hafsah, Amatullah. It is also recorded that his son Abdul Hayee died in 1918 and his wife Sughra Begum died in the 1950s. That is what we know about his wife and children.

Now concerning his mother there is a very interesting episode that is related in the book of Sir Zafrullah Khan on page 83. It is as follows:

In May, 1889, his mother died in Bhera in his absence. Eighteen years earlier when papers daily reported large numbers of casualties in the Russo- Turkish War, he had suggested to his mother that she, having eight sons and two daughters, all of whom, except himself, were married, might permit him to dedicate himself to the cause of God. She was terrified and ejaculated: "How can that be while I am alive! He did not insist. Thereafter his brothers died, one after the other, at short intervals. After the death of each, his widow collected all his belongings and departed from the family mansion, which thus became deserted. On one occasion he came home from Jammu to visit his mother in midsummer. After the midday meal, when he was taking his siesta, he was suddenly awakened by his mother's distressed cry proceeding from the adjoining room: "To Allah we belong and to Him shall we return (2:157)." He went over to her and remonstrated that a formula indicative of steadfast resignation to the divine will should not be pronounced in a distressed tone. Then he asked her: "Do you realize why this large house is now deserted?" She replied: "Yes, I remember what you said long ago. I have recalled it on the occasion of the death of every one of my sons." He enquired: "Do you realize anything else?" She said: "Yes, I know that despite my wish that you should be with me at the time of my death and take care of everything," I shall die in your absence.” And so it came about. He was in Jammu and could not reach her in time.

Now I will tell you how he stopped working for the Maharaja after almost fifteen years of service. Sir Zafrullah Khan speaks about the incident as follows:

Molvi Nur-ud-Din continued in attendance upon the Maharaja for another three years. He was well satisfied with his situation and saw no reason for making a change. There were currents and crosscurrents of intrigue, but so long as he enjoyed the Maharaja's confidence he did not feel concerned about anything else.

In 1892, Rajah Suraj Kaul was Senior Member of Council in the State. He had for some time suffered from pain in the kidney. He desired Maulawi Nur-ud-Din (ra) to treat him, and he, after thorough examination, having diagnosed stone in the kidney, advised him accordingly. The patient was much agitated and burst out: "Are you not aware that seven European Physicians have served under me?"

"That has no relevance to stone in the kidney."

"Also one of my sons is a doctor?"

"A doctor's father has no immunity against stone in the kidney."

The Rajah was upset and dismissed the physician. After some time Colonel Perry, of the Medical College, Lahore, and another British surgeon happened to visit Jammu, and the Maharaja asked them to examine Rajah Suraj Kaul and prescribe the treatment. During the course of the examination the Rajah mentioned that a Hakim had told him that he had stone in the kidney. Upon this Col. Perry directed his colleague to make an incision and probe for the stone; but no stone was revealed. Upon this Col. Perry himself took the scalpel, and on widening the incision discovered the stone which he took out. Both surgeons were gratified and praised the skill of the Hakim.

After his recovery Rajah Suraj Kaul sent for Maulawi Nur-ud-Din (ra) once more, but he declined to visit him. He had realised that the Rajah was not well disposed towards him and a visit would not mend matters. It appeared that the Rajah had persuaded the Maharaja to dispense with the services of Maulaw i Nur-ud-Din, and may have mentioned this to his colleagues in the Council, one of whom, Bag Ram, called on him and suggested that it would be wise on his part to send his resignation to the Maharaja. He told him that Islam disapproved of voluntarily discarding one's source of livelihood. Besides he may have felt that sending in his resignation might savor of ingratitude towards the Maharaja. Shortly after, he received a notice that his services had been dispensed with. He immediately informed his spiritual preceptor of this development, who, in the course of his reply, observed:

"One of the ways of Allah of demonstrating His love for a servant is to try him. This is such a trial and is not something to be afraid of. Allah knows well how much and how earnestly I have prayed for you. I shall continue my supplications in the hope of receiving a cheering response. My prayers for you have the special quality that prayers for a devoted friend have. It is not possible to express in word the degree and quality of our trust in the power and grace and bounties of our Supreme, Ever Living, Mighty King and Master at whose threshold we are ever prostrate."(Molvi Nuruddin by Sir Zafrullah Khan p86-87)

To end I would like to inform you about some of the recent revelations that Allah has vouchsafed unto me through His sheer Grace. They are as follows:

•  Qadikhtartoka le nafsi- I have chosen you for Myself.

•  Nawwarto laka wajheya - I have illumined My Face for you.

I understand this to mean that Allah has and will continue to give me knowledge about Himself.

•  Ho fazl tera yaa rab yaa koyi ibtela ho razi hein ham oussi mein jiss mein teri raza ho

Translation: In the face of a favour or in the face of trials we are pleased with that which pleases You.

•  Qalallaho fil qur'aan: Balillaho Mawlaakoum wa howa khayroun Nasereen:

Allah says in the Holy Quran: Nay Allah is Your Protector and He is the Best of Helpers

These are the words of comfort that this humble self has received from our Lord recently. Place your trust in Him and continue to be solely devoted to Him. He has put you here in this Jamaat for a purpose and incha Allah He will fulfill His purpose. Be firm and pray for firmness in faith and May Allah guide all of us to that which will help us to win His pleasure in all circumstances of life. Ameen
