Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen Friday Sermon of Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Zafrullah Domun 23 July 2010 At
Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque
After reciting the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter of Al
Fatiha Imam Zafrullah Domun
said: We members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen should be very careful with the way that we lead our life. We have tried our best to inculcate into our children a taste for spirituality but only time will tell how far we have succeeded. Anyhow we pray and hope that Allah accepts our prayers and crowns our efforts with success and that the generation that will follow us will have a solid grounding in what really matters in life. We strive and we leave the results in Allah’s hands. But all the children, most of them are no longer children, should see to it that their behaviour does not bring shame to our Jamaat. On the contrary they should be those who would use the teachings that they have received to enhance their knowledge of Islam and that of the spiritual world. We hope and pray that Allah gives each one of them an open mind and a friendly attitude towards all those who are different from them. May Allah enable you through the knowledge that He has given you to embrace those who think or act in a way that is different from yours but at the same time you remain firmly attached to the teachings that you have been given and of whose wisdom you are convinced. However you do not close your mind to new arguments and proofs. May you always be of those who serve others without expecting to be served. Let not your differences of opinion with someone make you become so heartless that you think it is a virtue to harm such people by words or by deeds. Wherever you find such teachings know it for sure that they do not serve at all the religion of Allah or the purpose of His prophet. Hence such teachings cannot in anyway be attributed to Allah or to His Prophet saw. Such teachings only serve the egoistical interests of those who put them into practice. Allah sent His Prophet Mohammad saw and His Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as to manifest that which is noble in all of us. It is our duty to follow these teachings until our last breath. We should not to let any enmity or rancor dwell in our heart and consequently we find justifications to deviate from these noble teachings. It is your duty to learn what is noble and what ennobles a human being and try your best to conform to this standard. We have seen how the members of the mainstream Ahmadiyya Jamaat in Mauritius and at many places around the world also have failed to live to the standards prescribed by a true lover of the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw of the latter days. Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as came to teach us to practice an Islam that would ennoble us. But we have seen amongst them a group practicing an Islam that debases human beings and equate them to the levels of animals or at times even worse. Hazrat Masih Maoodas received a revelation from Allah telling him “Al khayro koullohou fihil qur’an” which can be translated as “the essence of all that is good is found in the Holy Qur’an”. As his followers all of us should bear this well in mind and constantly think about its meanings. All our youngsters should also try to understand the evolution of Islamic history and to know also the evolution of the history of Jamaat Ahmadiyya so that you might be able to know truth from fiction. These days the availability of materials for a deep understanding of Islam is easily available and slowly we will incha build a library over here with rare but important books that will enhance our understanding and not impede it. All of you should devote some time to the study of the Holy Quran. In order to do this properly you should be able to read and understand Arabic so that you might always be able to refer to materials from their original sources and not from secondary ones. When we grow up we are attracted to the world and all that it contains. Rare is that person who while he is young he is interested in Allah and the Holy Quran and the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw. Although we should not become like hermits who live far from humans, we should do our best to understand that our destination is Allah. No one knows when he will reach his destination. All of us labour under the illusion that we will all live to a ripe old age. But everyday Allah reminds us that our final destination might come at any time. In the beginning of the month a young Ahmadi woman has suddenly departed from this world leaving her four children and husband and all her kith and kin. This is what the reality of existence is. Our life hinges on a breath. The moment we cannot take it we die. We return to Allah and He will inform us of what we used to do on earth. A good Muslim should be ever ready to meet his Lord. If he is not yet ready he or she should ask Allah to help him/her to be ready when the call is made to be present before Him.
Most of us do not like to speak about death. But the fact is
that when we are young we do not like to speak about death because we
think that life is in front of us. We have a long time to live. I am sure
that those of us who are of my age or older thought the same. But in a
twinkling of an eye we see how the years have gone by. We got married, we
have been graced with children and today most of them are grownups.
Similarly all of you soon will find that most of the years of your life
have gone by and that very little is left. So you should make the best use
of what is available to you while it lasts. In a famous hadith reported by
Bokhari it is reported that the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw has
said that “in two blessings the Muslim is cheated: his health and his
leisure.” The meaning is that he makes a wrong use of both. He abuses his
health by not caring for it and he mis-uses his freely available time by
going after frivolous pursuits. If you examine yourselves you will see
that you do not eat balanced diets and you do not exercise properly in
order to keep fit. Similarly you
do not make good use
of your free time by reading to improve yourselves but you are engaged in
many fruitless pursuits like watching TV, football or other films or by
just playing games or by talking needlessly over the net. In another book
of hadith, Tirmidhi has reported that the Holy Prophet
Muhammad saw mounted the pulpit, then wept and
said, "Ask Allah for forgiveness and
health, for after being granted certainty, one is given nothing better
than health." This hadith also is an important one. Try to think about it and you may understand how Islam views good health. In other books of hadiths we may read: "Grab
five things before five others: your youth before your decrepitude, your
health before your illness, your wealth before your poverty, your leisure
before your work, and your life before your death." [Al-Hakim,
“Al-Mustadrak”, Book No. 44, 4/341] This Hadith is a direct
call on Muslims to invest their time as early as possible when conditions
are favourable, i.e., youth, health, wealth and time before being
handicapped by impediments, such as old
age, sickness, poverty or preoccupation. Recently we entered the month of Shabaan. As you might all be aware
Shabaan is the 8th
month of the Islamic calendar. After Shabaan we will enter into the month
of Ramazan. But it is reported in hadiths the Holy Prophet Mohammad
saw used to say on seeing the moon for the month of Rajab which
is the seventh Islamic month: “Allahoumma baarik lana fi rajabe wa
shabaana wa balaghna shahra ramazana wa a’inna alas siyaame wal qiyaame wa
hifzil lisaane wa ghazzil basare wa laa tajal hazzana minhoul jou’a wal
atase”. The translation is “O my Allah pour out much blessings for us in Rajab
and Shaban, make us reach safely Ramzan, and take up abstinence and
uprightness (fasting and prayers), careful in our speech, turning the eyes
down and do not let us hunger for food and thirst for water while we
observe fast.” From this hadith we understand that the Holy Prophet Mohammadsaw started preparing himself and more importantly his followers for the month of Ramazan at least two months before. So should we. Incha Allah Ramazan will start in Mauritius around the 10th of August. We should pray with these words of the Holy Prophet saw and start our mental preparation for the coming of this great month and its many blessings. May Allah keep all of us alive to enjoy this spiritual feast that is coming incha Allah. And to end I would like to say a few words about the unislamic boycott practiced by Jamaat Ahmadiyya in Mauritius following instructions sanctioned by their caliph and zealously applied by all those whose religious knowledge is as scanty as their practice of the Shariah. Some people say that the caliph is not aware that any type of religious boycott is being applied against the members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Al Mouslemeen. But this is a blatant lie. The caliph is well aware and his amir in Mauritius and elsewhere acts under his direct instructions which are given of course through the Vakil Tabshir. In one of my sermons I have even given a full extract from the letter signed by Chaudri Hamidullah about this matter. So whoever wants to disculpate the caliph Mirza Masroor from this unislamic and family-relationship breaking practice is fooling but his own self. Jamaat Ahmadiyya has become a past master in putting its repressive machinery in full swing as soon as it feels threatened from inside. This is what it has done in the past and this is what it is doing now and incha Allah we hope that this unislamic practice will stop in the future. Allah gives respite for some time. But He will not tolerate that those whose inner nature are like Yazid will continue to harm His People. Some may think that I am being too harsh. But let us see what Allah says in the Holy Book. Let me give you some verses not all of them. He says: "Worship
Allah and join none with Him (in worship); and do good to parents,
kinsfolk, orphans, Al-Masakin (the poor), the neighbour who is near of
kin, the neighbour who is a stranger, the companion by your side, the
wayfarer (you meet), and those (slaves) whom your right hands
possess". (4:36) On the occasion of
Nikah part of the following verse is read. But as usual it is read as a
formality and it is not understood at all. Allah
says: "And fear Allah through Whom you demand (your mutual
rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship)". (4:1) At another place
speaking about those who are gifted with understanding Allah
says: Is
he then who knows that what has been revealed to thee from thy Lord is the
truth like the one who is blind? But only those gifted with understanding
(ouloul albaab) will take
heed; Those who
fulfill Allah’s pact and break not the
covenant
“And
those who join that which Allah has commanded to be joined (i.e., they are
good to their relatives and do not sever the bond of kinship) and fear
their Lord and dread the evil reckoning". (13:20-22) At another place He says: `Would you then, if you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties of kinship? Such are they whom Allah has cursed, so that He has made them deaf and blinded their sight" On each of this verse, by the Grace of Allah we can deliver a sermon. But due to lack of time we will not be able to do it today. But I have given you these verses so that you might ponder over them and then you might judge whether I am harsh or Allah has been harsher by cursing those who are in authority and commit the atrocity of making enemies between people who have ties of kinship. Now to finish I will repeat an hadith that we have spoken
about previously.Abu
Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah
saw said, "Allah
created all the creatures and when He finished the task of His creation,
Ar-Rahm (ties of relationship) said: `(O Allah) at this place I seek
refuge with You against severing my ties.' Allah said: `That I treat with
kindness those who treat you with kindness and sever ties with those who
sever ties with you.' It said: `I am satisfied.' Allah said: `Then this is
yours". Then Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Recite this Ayah if you
like: `Would you then, if
you were given the authority, do mischief in the land, and sever your ties
of kinship? Such are they whom Allah has cursed, so that He has made them
deaf and blinded their sight". (47:22,23). The
words in Al-Bukhari are: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah (SWT) says: `He who maintains good ties with you, I
maintain good ties with him; and he who severs your ties, I sever ties
with him". Now one can legitimately ask if the caliph, his amirs and all those members of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat who are abetting them in severing ties of kinship are under the Mercy of Allah or not? Some waggling tongues would say so many words because I am not invited to some parties. But the truth is “so many words” because out of enmity for me and my people Jamaat Ahmadiyya is committing a grave sin by forcing its members to commit to practices that by far are removed from Islam. Moreover it is part of my duties and responsibilities to help the people to understand the True Islam and not the one that is used to ride roughshod over others. Incha Allah we will talk more about this matter in future sermons. |
