Jamaat Ahmadiyya al Mouslemeen Friday Sermon of Hazrat Amirul Momeneen Zafrullah Domun 25 JUNE 2010 At
Bait-ul-Rahma Mosque
After
reciting the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter of Al
Fatiha Imam Zafrullah Domun said:
The situation of Ahmadis in Pakistan is getting worse every day. Since the events of 28th May 2010 the leaders of the extremists’ so-called Muslim groups are increasing their vehemence against members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya. They are coming up with the same old accusations that Ahmadis are traitors and they are not obeying the law of the land and they are against the Holy Prophet Mohammad saw. They should be killed. On YouTube and in newspaper articles one can hear or read the numerous declarations that are being made and where calls are being made for Ahmadis to be killed. But there are also some non Ahmadi Muslims who are bold enough to speak against the injustice that is being meted out to the Ahmadis. They are making calls for the Blasphemy laws of 1984 to be repealed and for Ahmadis to enjoy their legitimate rights. But up till now all such calls are falling on the dead ears of the authorities. The Mullahs are saying that Ahmadis are worse than the disbelievers and hence they should be killed. But some journalists are writing very bold articles to counter the negative influence of the Mullahs. But what will be the effect of this struggle only time will tell. When last week I sent an invitation to the caliph of the Ahmadiyya Jamaat to contact me if he wanted to know more about what I had to say about the dangers facing the Ahmadis in Pakistan I was not aware that the situation was getting worse over there. I did not send the invitation directly to the caliph. But I sent an email to the Ahmadiyya headquarters in Mauritius and to one of its members who sends me his articles. I could not send the message to the caliph directly because the process to send him an email is a long one and your message has to be only of about ten lines long. In addition your name has to be cleared before you are allowed to send a message. I could not go along in this time wasting process. So I sent it to Dares salaam, Rose-Hill expecting that the Amir and his adviser will do the needful. Have they forwarded the message or not I do not know. As far as I am concerned I have prayed that Allah protects the poor
and powerless Ahmadis in Pakistan against the evil that their enemies are
concocting against them. I pray that the plans they intend to execute come
to naught. In the words of the Holy Prophet I say “O Allah. Revealer of the Book, Disperser of the
clouds, Defeater of the hordes, put our enemy to rout and help us against
them.” In addition I also say“Allahhoumma inna naj’aloka fi
nohourehim wa na’ouzobeka min shorourehim” which means “O Allah we put
you in their breasts and we seek thy protection against their evils”. I
also pray that Allah, The Powerful make the enemies fail in achieving
their targets that He makes the earth shake under their feet and that He
puts fear in their heart. I beseech Thee O Allah to handicap them and to
blind them and to send calamities and plagues on those who want to blow
Thy servants. I beseech Thee O Allah to bring discord among them and to
make their conditions difficult and to turn their evils on
themselves. Show us O Allah,
the manifestation of Thy Power against them so that it might be a lesson
for others to remember. O Allah destroy all the leaders who want to spill
the blood of innocent and powerless Ahmadis and prevent them from carrying
out their evil plans.” For the time being we can only do this
much for the innocent and powerless Ahmadis who are living in Pakistan.
Allah is very Powerful. He can change conditions in the blink of an eye.
What is important is that we are sincere to Him. Our sincerity will be
gauged by our loyalty to the teachings of the Holy Quran and to the
teachings of Hazrat Masih Maood as. If we think and practice
evil and deny our own teachings Allah will put us to trials in order that
we might come back to the right path. As I have said in my previous sermons or
pieces of writings Jamaat Ahmadiyya has diverted from the right path in
some fundamental aspects of its teachings. It is the duty of the caliph to
rectify this situation before it is too late. It is unfortunate that the
bulk of Ahmadis are not well aware of the teachings of the Holy Quran.
Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, the Promised Messiah asked all of
us to be aware of the teachings of this noble Book. It is only with it
that we can defend our ideas and arguments. If we are not practicing the
Holy Quran in our daily lives and we repeatedly ignore its teachings and
we involve ourselves in backbiting, gambling, waste our time in fruitless
activities we will be doubly cursed on earth. One will be the curse of men
who say that we are non believers and the other will be the curse of Allah
because we have not obeyed the teachings that we were given. We cannot
institutionalize evil in the Jamaat and expect Allah to be with us. Now
how evil is our condition that we justify evil because it has the approval
of the caliph but it is against the Holy Quran. But remember, although out
of solidarity with the Jamaat you might do something wrong but the Jamaat
will not stand by you on the day of resurrection. You will be alone in the
court of Allah. Now the time has come for the Ahmadiyya
leadership and the people to think. They have to ask themselves where they
have gone wrong. As I said when I quoted the story of the blind man
visiting his sick friend, they might think that they are doing good but
the consequences of their actions are evil. Man is such an animal that he
always try to justify what he does without questioning its merits or
demerits. On many points the mainstream Jamaat has departed from Truth but
yet there is no right guided man (rajolin rachid) to tell them that
what they are doing is wrong. Maulana Rumi says that when an ass is stuck
in mud it tries to free itself from it but that is not the case of man. He
just sits and waits. Therefore he is worst than an
ass. If on the one hand we say that ignorance
is rife in Pakistan, we have to admit also that ignorance of Islam is also
rife amongst Ahmadis. Over the years we have been reading or we are
exposed only to our own literature and we accept what we are told on face
value. Personally, without any desire to boast I was one of the most
knowledgeable people in Jamaat Ahmadiyya Mauritius. I was aware of almost
all the important declarations of the caliph of the day. I spent a lot of
time studying the books of the Promised Messiah and the Holy Quran. I read
Books of Hadiths. I read some important books in Islamic literature. But I
never questioned what the caliph said because I always thought that he was
appointed by Allah and he knew better. But at times in my heart of heart I
was not happy with some matters. But since I was brought up within the
system I did all I could to maintain it. Unfortunately at times in the
desire to justify everything that was being said or done I might have
erred and I regret that a lot. I might even have harmed some people and I
regret that also. If that was my case how worse would it be with someone
less knowledgeable. In Jamaat Ahmadiyya anyone who differs with those in
authority is a threat. Hence such a person is usually thrown out of the
Jamaat. This is what happened in the past and this is what is happening
these days. The Jamaat needs only conformity and obedience to the
authority of the caliph and nothing else. If you cannot do that much you
are unfit to belong to the Jamaat. But when Allah opened our heart through
His Grace we came to understand that the khilafat system through which we
are being molded is not the one that is sanctioned by the Holy Quran.
Furthermore as I have said previously the form that it has taken cannot be
justified by the writings of the Promised Messiah. One might think that I
am making an empty declaration. But for years we have been challenging the
mainstream Jamaat to refute what we are saying. Unfortunately despite
their numbers and apparent knowledge no one has yet dared to write that
whatever Zafrullah Domun is saying about Khilafat is false. Unfortunately
the Jamaat continues to air an erroneous notion of khilafat around the
world. And in Mauritius also some are bold enough not to say ignorant
enough to write stupid things that are contrary to what Hazrat Masih
Maoodas has said. Each Ahmadi who wants to be a true
follower of Hazrat Masih Maood as should continuously examine himself or
herself and wonders how far he is true to his teachings. Many elderly
persons will tell you that we have been quite loyal to these teachings.
But on closer examination you will see that most have failed. Their hair
changed its colour, their beard changed its colour but they were not able
to change their own nature. That is sad indeed. In fact each one of us
should identify our shortcomings and use our strengths to overcome them.
Above everything we should make it one of the objectives of our life to
find pleasure in prayer like the noble prophet who said “the freshness of
my eyes lie in prayer”. But we will never be able to achieve this
objective alone. That is why Allah sends some of His servants and He
mandates them with a mission to help and guide others on this path. But
unfortunately most people do not like to be guided. They would prefer to
stay in the pit rather than be helped so that they might come out of it.
As we have previously said when Allah
sends someone to help others along the path of guidance, He does so out of
the pity that He has for mankind. But mankind does not like these people
and they always try to oppress them. The best illustration that I have
read up till now that conveys the situation of the people vis a vis those who
have been chosen to save them is conveyed in the following
story.
“ A blind man had fallen in a deep well. A man happened to pass by
and taking pity on the sad condition of the blind man , offered to pull
him out. For this purpose he dropped one end of a long rope into the well
and asked the blind man to catch hold of it so that he could be pulled
out. Instead of taking hold of the rope ,
however the blind man started a long and senseless harangue about how he
had fallen into the deep well , why the good man wanted to take him out ,
what his motive might be in thus helping him and what guarantee did he
have that he would not fall into some other well as soon as he was out.
The patience of the kind rescuer was
taxed heavily by all this nonsense, but he calmly replied that it would be
in the blind man’s best interest to take advantage of the rope now, and
after he was out, he would study the situation at
leisure. But once again the blind man
started to ramble on, asking how was it that the man with the rope had not
himself fallen into a well. The rescuer then told him he had other
important tasks to attend to, so he would have to leave the blind man in
the well if he did not come out within a few minutes.
“Alright” said the blind man.” But first
please tell me, how deep is this well, and when was it
built?” “Well, its deep enough to be the grave
of many like you, “said the rescuer and went his
way. Such was the folly of a physically blind
man. But how many whose hearts are blind behave in the same way when a
rescuer come to their rescue.
But here the rescuer never despairs of trying until he himself dies.
