After reciting the Tashahhud, the Ta’uz and the first chapter of Al Fatiha Imam Zafrullah Domun said:

In the mid 1980’s the fourth Ahmadiyya caliph Mirza Tahir Ahmad made a series of speeches in which he refuted all the objections that the opponents of Hazrat Masih Maood as leveled at Jamaat Ahmadiyya. Several times in the course of his speeches he used to say “is there no limit to stupidity or senselessness?” wondering how could the non Ahmadi Ulemas speak so much nonsense out of enmity for Jamaat Ahmadiyya. At that time I was fully convinced that what our caliph was saying was the truth and I could hardly have imagined that a time would come in the future when I will have to use the same words to descry the inhuman and unislamic attitude of the leaders of Jamaat Ahmadiyya mainstream.

Our members will recall what I said last week about those people whom Allah has cursed because when they are put in authority they create disorder on earth and they cut family ties. Today it is a well known fact that Jamaat Ahmadiyya mainstream have diverted completely from the teachings that they were given and that they are groping in ignorance and they are developing day in and day out anti Islamic attitudes. Several times I have denounced how this Jamaat says one thing but does another. It says it promotes “love for all and hatred for none”. But in fact it has shown by its deeds how it can force members of the same family to act in a belligerent attitude towards one another. The Promised Messiah Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas taught us to create goodwill amongst one another. He says in his book Noah’s Ark:

“Never unduly assert yourselves with pride over others, even those who are placed under you. Never use abusive language for anyone, even though he abuses you. Be humble in spirit, kind and gentle, and forgiving, sympathetic towards all and wishing them well, so that you should be accepted…”

Now this is the teachings of Hazrat Masih Maood as. But we all know quite well what have been the teachings of the fourth caliph and which has been zealously applied by all members of the Jamaat in Mauritius. The caliph wished us ill and he did not show any sympathy or gentleness at all. His successor has preferred to stay on the fence and keep repeating what his predecessors said and he continues to force all the Ahmadis in Mauritius to act against the teachings of the founder of the Jamaat, namely Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as. According to what I have just read from Hazrat Masih Maood as those who do not display the qualities mentioned are not accepted in the sight of Allah. Hence since members of Jamaat Ahmadiyya Mauritius as a whole have chosen to follow their amir and their caliph they are not accepted at all in the sight of Allah as per what Hazrat Masih Maoodas has told us. Then Hazrat Masih says

“There are many who pretend to be kind, gentle and forgiving, but inside they are wolves; there are many on the outside who look pure, but in their hearts they are like serpents. You cannot be accepted in the presence of the Lord unless you are pure both inside and outside.”

Again we understand from this extract that one can cry at the top of the Mosque that our motto is “Love for all hatred for none” but we all know that this is an empty shell and that most people in the Jamaat Ahmadiyya in Mauritius have serpent like dispositions in their hearts whatever they might profess with their mouth. In truth the slogan has been put on the mosque but not in the heart of the people.

Hazrat Masih continues and says:

“It is our principle to have sympathy for the whole of mankind. If a person sees that fire has broken out in the house of a Hindu neighbor and he does not get up to help put it out, I tell you truly that he is not of me. If one of my followers sees a Christian being killed and he does not go to rescue him, I tell you very truly that he is not of us…. I say it on oath and in truth that I have no enmity with any people. I do however desire, as far as possible, to reform their beliefs. If anyone abuses me, I refer my plaint to God and not to any other court. Despite all this, it is our obligation to have sympathy with the whole of mankind.”[Siraj-e-Munir, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 12, p. 28]

It is quite unfortunate that despite the fact that Jamaat Ahmadiyya has been implanted in Mauritius for nearly 100 years Ahmadis are still ignorant of the noble teachings of its Founder. The problem is that there is no desire to know and to know. People rely only on their leaders to tell them what to do and what not to do. And since these leaders themselves are quite ignorant of the aims and objectives of Jamaat Ahmadiyya they misguide the people. Hazrat Masih says:

“I particularly wish to admonish my Jamaat, who believe in me as the Promised Messiah, that they should eschew these impure habits. Since God has sent me as the Promised Messiah and has clothed me in the garb of Jesus son of Maryas, I admonish you to shun mischief and be sympathetic towards mankind. Cleanse your hearts of all ill-will and rancour. By so doing you will become like angels. Dirty and impure is the creed which does not inculcate sympathy for mankind.

How impure is the path which is studded with the thorns of prejudice? You, who are with me, should avoid being such. You should reflect as to what, after all, is to be gained from religion? It is surely not that you should be bent upon inflicting pain on mankind. The purpose of religion is to acquire the life which is lived in God. That life has never been acquired and cannot be acquired except through developing Divine attributes in oneself. Have mercy on everyone for the sake of God so that you might receive mercy from heaven.

Come; let me show you the path by following which your light shall prevail over all lights. This path is that you should give up all rancor and envy, be sympathetic to mankind, and lose the self wholly in God, and thereby acquire purity of the highest order. This is how miracles are worked and prayers are heard and angels descend to help. But this is not something you can achieve in a day. You must march on and on. Learn a lesson from the washer-man who first boils dirty clothes over a furnace and continues this process until the fire separates all dirt and filth from the clothes. Then he gets up early next morning and carries the laundry to the water and after wetting the clothes strikes them repeatedly against smooth stones until the dirt, which had stuck to the clothes and had become part of the laundry, begins to depart. As a result of both the boiling and being beaten against stones, the clothes become as white as new. This is also the way of cleansing the human self. Your salvation depends entirely upon acquiring this pristine whiteness. This is what God Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an: “He indeed truly prospers who purifies it(soul). [91:10]

This is a most important piece in all the writings of the Promised Messiah. First he tells us that all Ahmadis who have accepted him as the Promised Messiah should avoid all bad habits and all types of mischief. Now we may stop and ponder how far Jamaat Ahmadiyya has progressed in this matter. The truth of the matter is that most people do not care at all about doing what needs to be done. But they just content themselves to declare that they are Ahmadis and they belong to the Jamaat. Hazrat Masih tells us “how impure is the path that is studded with the thorns of prejudice”. But in Mauritius the Jamaat guided by advisers from London has become a factory for the manufacturing of prejudices. They revel in showing that they are proud of the prejudices that they have in defense of Ahmadiyyat. Due to lack of knowledge the members helped by the leaders find solace only in their prejudices.

Again in this extract Hazrat Masih talks about the purpose of religion. It is not here to create divisions among the people but it is here only to help the people to achieve their salvation. They have got to put its teachings into practice in order to please Allah. But there are many who do not care about the day of reckoning which is quite near however far off we may perceive it.

In the end in this extract Hazrat Masih tells us how to improve our light so that it might outshine all other lights. He says that this is an arduous task and that we should undertake it if we want our salvation. Hence it is the duty of every Ahmadi to understand that his most important duty in life is to strive to achieve his salvation. Moreover this salvation will never be achieved if you think that in order to get it you need to inflict pain on others.

Hazrat Masih says in another extract:

So long as a person does not set right his affair with God Almighty in every situation and does not discharge fully the two kinds of obligations that he owes, he cannot achieve his purpose. As I have mentioned, obligations are of two kinds: those due to Allah, and those due to His creatures. The latter are of two kinds: those that are owed to brethren in faith— whether they are related as father, son, or brother, they are still brothers in faith—and the other obligation is to mankind in general, by way of true sympathy.(Malfuzaat Vol 3)

Hence when we read these extracts and ponder over them, any Ahmadi should be filled with a fear unless he/she is not doing what is pleasing to Allah. In his stupidity to please his amir and caliph he might be displeasing Allah without knowing it.  So if we have harmed someone we should try to patch up as soon as possible. Because Allah knows quite well all his deeds and He will ask him to account for them. At that time he will not be able to offer any excuse.  No one will be able to present the excuse that they were following their leaders. Because the leader will have to look after his own burden and he will not be able to help anyone.

In order to help Ahmadis to understand what they have to do Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas started the Jalsa Salana in 1891. Its purpose was to help the members to increase their God-fearingness. But today around the world there are Jalsas. But have we ever taken stock about by how much people are becoming better through attending these Jalsas. In fact as far as Mauritius is concerned it is quite evident that the necessary improvement is barely visible.  Since 1993 in England there is a ceremony known as “Alami Bait” or International Bait. We know that in Mauritius many Ahmadis flock to the mosque thinking that by participating in this ceremony they have acquitted themselves of their responsibilities vis à vis their pledge of allegiance. There is nothing further from the truth. To acquit oneself of the obligations of a pledge of allegiance one has to do what Hazrat Masih Maood as has asked us to do above. There is no shortcut. It is a long road and it concerns everyone who declares himself to be a follower of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas. Those who think otherwise fall into the category of “those who want to deceive Allah and the believers but they do not deceive anyone but themselves but they perceive it not” (2:10)

In order to help Ahmadis not to deviate from the right path, Allah has sent them this humble one. But as could be expected vested interests have preferred their own prejudices to the Sunnat of Allah. In fact these simple Ahmadis are being kept captive in a system from which they cannot disentangle themselves. Anyhow let us hope and pray that incha Allah in the end those who want to defend this iniquitous system will eventually fail in their objectives and Ahmadis may be helped to follow the Islam that they were taught by the founder of their Jamaat, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas.
